RAM, FCA Foundation donate another $100,000 to Texas Ranger Museum
RAM and the FCA Foundation have made a second donation of $100,000 to the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum in Waco within the last year — helping assure the legacy of the historic and world-famous law enforcement agency.
“Texas Rangers epitomize all of the great qualities of the Lone Star State,” said Becky Blanchard, director of RAM Truck Brand, FCA US LLC. “RAM has deep ties to Texas. Reinforcing RAM’s commitment to the Texas Ranger Division and the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum is a significant way to be engaged with the people and communities in which we do business.”
The money will be used for improvements at the museum, the official historical center of the Rangers, in advance of its bicentennial. Some of the money will also be used for the Texas Ranger Association Foundation’s scholarship program.
“We are tremendously grateful to RAM and the FCA Foundation for supporting the bicentennial of the Texas Rangers,” said Byron A. Johnson, executive director of the Texas Ranger museum. “They have made it possible to better share an American Heritage — the Texas Rangers — with present and future generations. … And their support makes possible improvements to our museum that will permit those with disabilities to have better access to the museum.”
The first $100,000 gift was made at the 2014 State Fair of Texas.
The Texas Rangers are the oldest state law enforcement agency in America, with roots dating to 1823. The first Rangers were bands of men brought together to fight marauders in a hostile frontier. They have been written about in league with other world-famous law enforcement agencies such as the FBI, Scotland Yard and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
RAM debuted a Texas Ranger concept truck in Dallas earlier this year that featured Ranger badges, a white and silver exterior, and iconic accents such as four real Mexican 5-peso silver coins inlaid in the door.
We may not have the Texas Ranger truck on the lot at Blake Fulenwider Dodge in Eastland, but we do have the RAM Lone Star edition. Come by for a test drive of the truck designed and built by Texans.
