Texas State Parks Near Eastland

Fall is here and there’s a chill in the air! At least there’s a chill in the air for a few hours in the morning, this is still Texas after all. The point is, temperatures are dropping and it’s the perfect time to enjoy the great outdoors! Lucky for you there are a ton of great places near Eastland to escape the daily grind and reconnect with nature. Here’s a list of some of our favorite Texas state parks near Eastland.

Dinosaur Valley State Park

Just an hour and a half from Blake Fulenwider Dodge is a place where you can literally walk in the footsteps of giants. Dinosaur Valley State Park is named after the fossilized footprints these ancient creatures actually left along the edge of an ancient ocean. This is a must visit for any family with young children, as well as any outdoor enthusiast who enjoys camping, hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, and more.

Lake Brownwood State Park

Once you drive off our lot you’re less than an hour away from Lake Brownwood State Park. This historic site features Lake Brownwood, a popular spot for swimming, fishing, and boating. Adrenaline junkies will love the water skiing, while history buffs can enjoy the historic cabins built from locally sourced materials. You know what goes great with boating? Palo Pinto Mountains State Park

You don’t always picture mountains when you think of Texas, but that’s just what you’ll find at Palo Pinto Mountains State Park. While the park is not currently open to the public, construction started in January of this year. Once it is open, it will offer camping, fishing, swimming, and hiking up to scenic vistas. Possum Kingdom State Park

The centerpiece of this gorgeous park is the pristine Possum Kingdom Lake with over 300 miles of shoreline. Perfect for swimming, hiking, biking, floating, and fishing, Possum Kingdom Lake State Park has been a favorite of Texas residents for generations. It takes just under an hour to get there from our Eastland dealership, so load up the family and head out on an adventure!
